Carolyn & Chris :: Engaged!

Last night, I drove down into Milwaukee and braved the Summerfest traffic to meet Carolyn & Chris on the East side for their engagement session. The drive was well worth it! We met at a gorgeous location called Lake Park (home of the Lake Park Bistro, a fantastic Bartalotta’s restaurant overlooking the lake). The light was just beautiful, though it ran out on us quickly once the sun set. We had originally planned on the Third Ward and I have to admit that I was a tad disappointed when we moved the shoot (due to all the Summerfest craziness going on), but the results were wonderful and I’m glad we ended up where we did!

We’ll have plenty of chances to hit up the Third Ward at Carolyn & Chris’s wedding this July, which is going to be at the Eisner Museum. I can’t wait to shoot that unique location!

Thanks, guys, for having us along last night and being such great sports about hiking, the bugs, and all the photo fuss going on.Â:)Â Enjoy your preview!

I have to shout out to my two great assistants from last night- you guys were awesome! Meet Jesse (getting acquainted with the 70-200 below) and Morgan (lightstick lady extraordinaire):

Jesse’s been a great friend for years now, and I’m actually standing up for his bride-to-be this August when they say their vows in Madison. Jesse just started to get rolling on his photography interest, and I think his eye shows great promise so far! Morgan is a new acquaintance, but already I know I’ll be sad when she, too, says her vows in August- because she’s saying them in her new home of Monterey, CA (can we say JEALOUS?) where her sailor sweetie is currently living. Morgan’s also exploring her interest in photography, and taking all the right steps to learn as much as she can before taking the plunge. She’s a fantastic assistant!

Thanks to both of you for helping so much last night, and here’s my favorite shot from our last-minute lighthouse stop (THANKS Chris for telling us how to get there, we had a fun pit-stop!).
